This groundbreaking device is the epitome of modern, evidence-based cavity detection using a fluorescent laser light instead of radiation. It is operated by our dental hygienists and dentists with consistent results. It is comfortable for ours patients – even very young children. It only requires a few short minutes and no anesthesia to scan the entire mouth for cavities and decay.
This technology uses a precise laser scanning system to evaluate the chewing surfaces of the teeth. The laser measures the fluorescence within each tooth’s structure, which allows us to know if any dark spots on your teeth are cavities or not. Low readings indicate surface stains which do not need to be treated, and high readings will indicate that we need to intervene and restore the cavity. Our goal is early intervention and catch cavities while they are small. It’s the easiest fix for your tooth!
